Three Stars Rocked VEERAH at the Green Carpet Fashion Awards 2020
See How Petra Nemcova, Nicky Whelan, and Bethany Joy Lenz styled their VEERAH’s for this year’s GCFA.
For this year’s ceremony, the Green Carpet Fashion Awards 2020 went digital
October 10, 2020 was a night to remember as the first-ever virtual Green Carpet Fashion Awards 2020 took place to globally celebrate sustainability. The show was hosted by Eco-Age founder, Livia Firth in collaboration with Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana and streamed on YouTube against a digital transformation of Milan’s iconic opera house, La Scala. Hollywood and fashion’s brightest stars participated by dressing in their sustainable best. What’s even more exciting is that we also took part in this momentous event, through our three muses who made VEERAH their footwear of choice.
Together with AERAID PR co-founders and sustainable fashion stylists, Joanne Black and Victoria Vromen, we were able to work with these wonderful women: Supermodel and All Hands and Heart Co-founder, Sustainability Editor of Vogue CS, and Supermodel, Petra Nemcova; Australian actress Nicky Whelan; and actress and singer-songwriter, Bethany Joy Lenz. Each has her own journey in championing eco-living, but all three patronize sustainable fashion and joining the Green Carpet Challenge 2020 is but a testament to that. Not only were their green carpet ensembles a showcase of sustainable fashion brands, but also their personal styles. Read on as we break down their oh-so-(eco)chic looks and the one VEERAH style they all rocked for the night.
Petra Nemcova looked pretty in pink in a pleated, bowed high neck Jiri Kalfar dress, crafted from recycled plastic. She accessorized this feminine frock with ethical, fair-minded gold Chopard jewelry and a Rossoyuki clutch, made from recycled and handmade materials—the supermodel has proudly carried this clutch a number of times already on the red carpet (including the 2019 Cannes Film Festival where she also wore VEERAH) and other events. Petra finished off her matte, metallic look with our Venus in Gold Goddess.
Aussie actress Nicky Whelan was quite the femme fatale in a black, cutout upcycled dress by LAHIVE —we love how this strappy number complements our strappy heels! She paired her look with baubles from Irthly that are actually made from seeds and recycled gold. As for her sky-highs, Nicky went all black and also sashayed in our Venus, but in Black Tie .
Bethany Joy Lenz's red look spoke volumes
Last but not the least, we have Bethany Joy Lenz who was ravishing in red for her green carpet ensemble. She wore a BENCHELLAL gown that was originally a tablecloth, and revamped into this ruffled mullet piece. Amazing, right? We adore stylist Joanne Black 's bold move in making her wear contrasting jewelry—soft pink danglers with a blue stone ring? Yes!—by Daria de Koning. To balance Bethany’s voluminous gown, the actress also donned our Venus strappy sandal in Gold Goddess.
Petra, Nicky, and Bethany may have different personal styles, but it goes to show how versatile Venus can be, especially for major events such as the Green Carpet Fashion Awards 2020. Each star shined their brightest, bedecked in sustainable fashion from head to toe, thanks to the brilliant teamwork of Joanne and Victoria of AERAID PR. With this initiative by Livia Firth and Eco-Age, we hope that more and more celebrities will go this route to discover and wear ethical and sustainable brands on the red carpet and beyond.
We adore Petra, Nicky, and Bethany’s looks! But what about you VEERAH Warriors? What was your favorite green carpet look? Let us know in the comments below!
