On May 9, 2021, not only did we celebrate mothers around the world for Mother’s Day but also another first for the brand. Brazilian superstar Anitta debuted VEERAH on the Latin GRAMMY® Celebra Ellas y Su Música stage for a performance of her latest single, “Girl From Rio”. This first-ever television special was held to honor the journey of women in the Latin music industry with a gathering of veterans, icons, and up-and-coming artists doing what they do best. A trailblazer in her own right (she’s already won a slew of awards, has two Netflix shows, chart-topping hits, and more!), it’s no surprise that Anitta joined this impressive lineup including: Vicky Carr, Cazzu, Chiquis, Aida Cuevas, Gloria Estefan, just to name a few.
Fun fact: it took 45,000 Swarovski crystals to create this sizzling number
Anitta’s performance echoed her “Girl From Rio” music video
Anitta commanded the audience and stage with her show-stopping production number that featured a catchy tune with playful choreography, vibrant graphics, and fabulous retro-inspired costumes. Recreating the vibe from her “Girl From Rio” music video, she flaunted a sailor pin-up girl look in a sexy striped Swarovski-laden—a whopping 45,000 Swarovski crystals were used for this creation—catsuit, custom-made by designer Usama Ishtay. The pop sensation’s dancing heels of choice? Our Venus sustainable heels in White Tuxedo! We love how they complemented her ensemble seamlessly, as styled by Janelle Miller.
Who says you can’t dance in the Venus heels? Not this superstar!
Only 😍😍😍 for this girl from Rio and her crew

A vegan herself (she went vegan in 2019 after watching the documentary, Cowspiracy), we are super pumped to see Anitta in our Venus open toe heeled sandals which are of course, 100% vegan, sustainable, and cruelty-free. They are powerful yet feminine, just like this Brazilian singer-songwriter. Hopefully, this won’t be the last time we’ll see her rock VEERAH on stage.
