In Hollywood, stars come and go, but some shine even brighter with wisdom and age that their careers span decades. Such as vegan actress Mena Suvari, who rose to fame in 1999 with two box-office hits, American Pie and the Oscar-winning, American Beauty. Since then, she has done a slew of successful films, TV shows, fashion and beauty campaigns, not to mention garnering numerous awards and nominations along the way. However, behind Mena’s many accomplishments, there lurks a dark past that she candidly writes about in, The Great Peace: A Memoir.
What makes Mena Suvari’s star shine so brightly? We believe it’s her courage in overcoming a tumultuous past and finally finding peace. Thriving at 42, she is a wife, doting mother to her son (born in April of this year), and still very much the thespian. In the past month, we’ve seen her doing press for her book and bravely sharing her story...in VEERAH designer vegan heels, no less! Check out the actress’ strictly sustainable, and oh-so-chic looks styled by Nola Singer.

Mena says, “I was too embarrassed, so I stayed in bad situations. I’m sharing my story to help people like that know that they don’t have to stay. If I can shave off a summer of suffering for someone, I want to.” (Photo: Jay L. Clendenin)
